E- Cigarettes - Vaping
E-cigarette systems were originally marketed as a healthier alternative to smoking cigarettes. They have been proven to have many of the same negative health effects of traditional cigarettes. They have since changed their marketing towards the younger population by introducing different flavors, such as strawberry, vanilla, etc. The vaping systems have been used for e-cigarette, other nicotine alternatives, and even illicit substances. The number of students who report vaping has skyrocketed since it's introduction. Parents can implement some interventions to prevent or stop the use of vaping products by: leading by example, educating themselves and their children about the harmful effects of these products, and protecting their children from exposure to second-hand vapors. Opening up the discussion about these products helps your children understand the implications of use and the serious health consequences.
