(6/29/20) MSHSL announces athletic physical extension The Minnesota State High School League has announced an extension to all students who have a soon to expire or recently expired athletic physical. Any student who’s physical expires any time from March 12, 2020 through the conclusion of the 20-21 school year will have the clearance extended through the completion of the 2020-21 school year. The MSHSL Board of Directors Executive Committee took this action in recognizing that due to the COVID-19 situation it may be very difficult for students to get appointments in health care facilities. One other note, students who have not previously had a physical on file will be required to have one prior to being cleared to participate in 2020-21.
Parents of Tiger Affiliated Activity Program Students,
The health, safety, and well-being of all our Tiger students, coaches, and instructors is our number one priority. The current pandemic has caused us to delay Tiger summer youth and activity programs; however, we are excited to be able to re-open our facilities starting Monday, June 15.
Many of your children and our coaches and instructors have been waiting patiently for the re-opening of our facilities. We appreciate your patience as we needed time to review and follow the guidance provided by the CDC, MDH, Governor Walz, and other entities and organizations.
Before we can open access to our facilities, we have a number of protocols and expectations that we want you to be aware of (see enclosure). We also have a form that you will need to sign and return before your child will be allowed to participate in summer activities in the MPS facilities. This can be accomplished through an online form (link below), or by printing/returning a paper copy of the Assumption of Risk Waiver form (see below).
Our focus on the health, safety, and well-being of all our Tiger students, coaches, and instructors includes: Cleaning and disinfecting Effective implementation of our plan Limiting the number of students and coaches and instructors Screening Social distancing
Though the 2019-20 year ended sooner than expected due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, the Marshall Tigers still have a lot to celebrate and be proud of. Now we can use the summer of 2020 to prepare to return to participation during the 2020-21 school year. Whether its sports, music, or academics, there are plenty of opportunities this summer to prepare to come back stronger than ever. If interested, see the link below to the Borch's Come Back Stronger store to show your Tiger Pride while helping support one of our local business partners.Announcements:
