MHS Activities Update

The health, safety, and well-being of all our Tiger students, coaches, and instructors is our number one priority.  The current pandemic has caused us to delay Tiger summer youth and activity programs; however, we are excited to be able to re-open our facilities starting Monday, June 15.

Many of your children and our coaches and instructors have been waiting patiently for the re-opening of our facilities.  We appreciate your patience as we needed time to review and follow the guidance provided by the CDC, MDH, Governor Walz, and other entities and organizations.

Before we can open access to our facilities, we have a number of protocols and expectations that we want you to be aware of (see links below).  We also have a form that you will need to sign and return before your child will be allowed to participate in summer activities in the MPS facilities (see online link below).

Our focus on the health, safety, and well-being of all our Tiger students, coaches, and instructors includes:

  • Cleaning and disinfecting
  • Effective implementation of our plan
  • Limiting the number of students and coaches and instructors
  • Screening
  • Social distancing

And – most importantly – we need everyone to adhere to all of the protocols and expectations

Deviation from the protocols and expectations by a student, coach, or instructor will result in the removal of those individuals and the immediate cancellation of the activity program.  Everyone’s cooperation is greatly appreciated.

We strongly urge you to read the Minnesota Department of Health materials regarding Guidance for Social Distancing in Youth and Sports Programs.  This document may be helpful for you to understand what will be done to mitigate transmission of COVID-19.  This document can be found at:

We are anxious and excited for the return of our students and the re-opening of our facilities.  We feel confident that the precautions that have been put in place can help everyone stay safe and healthy, but we still must take these seriously for that to happen.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Bruce Remme at bruce.remme@marshall.k12.mn.us or call (507) 537-6920, extension 1008.
