Welcome to the Marshall Public Schools, home of the Marshall Tigers.  It is my hope that you are able to find helpful information here – if you do not find what you are looking for or need more information, feel free to contact a staff member in any of our offices.

I have a tremendous appreciation of the quality district that I am privileged to be a part of.  The menu and quality of opportunities and services offered to students, reputation of the school district, exciting initiatives already taking place, promising future of the district, and the Marshall community in general are all positive attributes of the Marshall Public Schools.  I am thrilled, grateful, and humbled to become a part of the district!

Education as many of us know it is changing.  Students may not learn how we learned.  Today’s generation of learners need to participate in activities that challenge and engage them, that help them develop important life skills, and that prepare them for the next step in their development – whatever that may be.  A new focus on career and college readiness from our state officials is an exciting opportunity for us.

Marshall Public Schools mission is "to develop the potential of each learner for success is a changing world."  Continuing strides towards our mission and the district’s vision "to work as one in the pursuit of excellence” will require a continued focus on collaboration, communication, and commitment.  It will take the entire community for our students and the district to be successful.  Our mission, vision, and strategic plan will continue to serve as an important part of what we do and how we do it…our roadmap, if you will.

My focus at the start of the year will primarily be on familiarizing myself with various aspects of the Marshall Public Schools, establishing relationships with stakeholders, becoming involved in the community, supporting students and staff, and working collaboratively to uphold the tradition and reputation of MPS.  It is obvious to me that great things are happening here!

I am looking forward to meeting as many people as possible and serving this district.  I am also looking forward to a great year for our students, parents, staff, and residents.  If you have questions or want to share your ideas, please do not hesitate to contact me at (507) 537-6924 or scott.monson@marshall.k12.mn.us. Thank you for your interest in our school district.

Yours in education,

Scott J. Monson, Superintendent

Marshall Public Schools – ISD #413
