I am Darci Love, and I have had the honor of serving as the principal at Park Side Elementary since 2013. Prior to moving to Marshall in 2013, I was an educator in Huron, South Dakota.  Drawing on my extensive 30-year experience in the field of education, I have had the opportunity to work in various capacities, including as an 8th-grade teacher for a decade and as a Curriculum Director and Federal Programs Coordinator for another ten years. 

When it comes to my educational background, I hold a Master’s degree in Educational Technology and an Education Specialist degree in Administration and School Leadership from the University of Sioux Falls. In my recent endeavors, my focus has been on ensuring that all students acquire the essential reading skills necessary to become proficient readers. To further develop my expertise in this area, I have pursued a Dyslexia Graduate Certificate from the University of Florida. In addition, I have successfully completed the LETRS ® professional learning course, a comprehensive training program encompassing over 180 hours of course work. This intensive course and specialized training have equipped me with an extensive understanding of the scientific principles involved in the intricate process of learning to read. As a result, I am well-prepared to support our dedicated teachers in their professional growth and actively contribute to our collective mission of guaranteeing that all students possess the foundational reading skills required for proficiency. 

I consider myself privileged and fortunate to be a part of Marshall Public Schools, an institution that places the utmost importance on academic success for each student in a safe, caring, and supportive learning environment. With great enthusiasm, I look forward to continuing this vital work alongside the Park Side Elementary family and the Marshall community.
