🎖️Honoring Our Veterans🎖️
Today, our school community came together to celebrate and honor the brave men and women who have served our country. We are deeply grateful to all our veterans — your courage, sacrifice, and service inspire us every day.
A special thank you to our Color Guard, all proud veterans, for being part of today’s assembly and representing the spirit of dedication and honor.
We were also truly honored to welcome Lieutenant Colonel Joe Errington (U.S. Army, Retired) as our guest speaker. LTC Errington served our nation for 29 years, leading with courage and distinction. A combat-wounded veteran, his final Army assignment was as Commander of the 3rd Battalion, 16th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas. Throughout his military career, LTC Errington deployed nine times across the globe — to Iraq, Kuwait, Germany, Bosnia, the Arctic Circle, Korea, Egypt, and Guinea, Africa. His many decorations include the Legion of Merit, two Bronze Star Medals, the Purple Heart, the Presidential Unit Citation, and the Combat Action Badge.
After retiring from active duty, LTC Errington and his family moved from Fort Hood, Texas to Cottonwood, MN, where he now serves as the Safety Director for Prairie Grain Partners in Clarkfield. He and his wife, Alison, continue to be valued members of our community.
Thank you also to our Honor Society for helping to plan and lead this special event and to our choir for their talented singing! Today, as we reflect on the meaning of service, we ask: Who is your hero?
