The students at the Marshall Career and Technical Institute have been hard at work designing and building quality projects, and we're excited to offer their first community sale item…handcrafted pheasant feeders!

These feeders were designed and built by our talented students as part of their hands-on learning experience. As they continue to develop their skills, students will transition into designing and creating additional projects for sale to the community.

What: Student-built pheasant feeders

Part 2: Summer school students got the opportunity to explore Camden Park with Wild Compass. Students learned about food chains and food webs and how important each organism is to our ecosystems. At the end, students were able to explore the woods to find as many insects/organisms to study and learn about. Thank you to Wild Compass for a wonderful learning opportunity for our students! Thank you to The Families Project – Lyon Murray Collaborative for the grant to welcome Wild Compass into our school this summer!

Sam Jens, 4H Extension Educator, came in to test the kids on all the wonderful facts they have learned about bugs during the summer school session. The students participated in a head-to-head memory game and then after, did some trivia as a class. Ask your student a question about pollinators- they have learned so much!

🚧 Middle School Parking Lot Construction Update 🚧

The transformation of the Middle School parking lot continues!

Today, crews began laying asphalt, a major milestone in the project. In the coming days, you'll see even more progress as additional asphalt is installed and the landscaping work begins to take shape.

We appreciate the patience and support of our students, families, staff, and community throughout this construction project. The improvements are coming together nicely, and we are excited to see the finished product.

✅ Project completion is anticipated by Friday, August 14.

Thank you to the Hey Family for your many years of service and transportation to Marshall Public Schools!

Southwest Coaches has provided millions of rides to students over the years whether it be getting them to school in the morning, getting them home in the afternoon, or getting to activities on nights and weekends. Most of the community may not notice, but Jim and Tom have spent many early mornings and late nights on icy roads checking conditions and worrying about transporting kids safely.

We wish you well in your transition into retirement!

Sam Jens, a 4H Extension Educator, visited students to lead a hands-on sustainability project. Students built mini bug houses using small bottles and upcycled materials. During the workshop, they learned the vital role local insects play in the ecosystem and discovered practical ways to help these beneficial bugs survive and thrive.
