Our MPS athletes represented us well yesterday at the various events we had going on throughout the section. 👏🏻 The baseball team won their first section game last night, go Tigers! ⚾
The boys golf team are the new section CHAMPS🏆 and will be advancing to State. ⛳👏🏻 The last time they advanced to state was back in 2014. Boys golf also had individual qualifiers as well which are Jayden Manthei (3rd place), Luke Ehlers (4th place), and Nate Panka (5th place). Brayden Louwagie also placed well at 14th place. Great job boys and best of luck at state!
The girls' golf team f took 4th place overall.👏🏻 While not continuing on to state as a team, we do have two girls advancing to state individuals which are Dayton Webskowski (6th place) and Grace Rokeh (9th). 🏅🏅 We also had great contributions and finishes by Maddi Panka, Ali Pederson, Isabella Grossen and Rylee Jacobson.
Last but not least, after day 1 of the boys and girls section track meet, we had 2 girls punch their ticket to state individuals which are Ali Sample (who placed 2nd and broke a new school record in the 3200)🥈, and Brooklyn Purrington who was the section champion 🥇in the high jump! We also had several other athletes medal at Sections yesterday including: Kohen Holcomb placed 6th in the 3200-meter run, Chioma Onyeaghala placed 7th in the long jump, Paige Gillingham placed 6th in the girl's discus. Advancing to the finals tomorrow are Aidan Schuerman in both the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles, Mickey Hess in the 200-meter dash, Alex Franson and Keagen Anderson in the 400m dash, Sam Deutz in the 800-meter run, Aysia Miles in the 200 , Cameen McFarquar in the 300 hurdles., both Peyton Boeck and Avery Schneekloth in the 400-meter dash and Taleigha Bigler and Landry Graven moved on to the finals in the 800m. 🏃🏻♀️🐾
Best of luck to all athletes competing tomorrow. State golf will be June 11th and 12th at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan, MN!🐯

Thanks to the Pride in the Tiger Foundation , first graders at Park Side l were able to have the Science Museum of MN visit and teach them about dinosaurs. They were able to learn about fossils, how bones are alike and different, and put together the outline of a dinosaur.

Let's talk golf! The boys team placed 1st and the girls team placed 5th during the first round of sections, both earning advancement to round 2 of Sections. Round 2 starts tomorrow at 9am in Buffalo Lake. First place team finish heads to state along with the top 5 individuals that are not on the top team. Best of luck tomorrow to our Tiger Golf teams!

Thank you, Pride in the Tiger Foundation, for awarding Mrs. Dulas class an $875.00 grant to purchase 5 Ozobot programable robots for Southview Elementary. These small educational robots will be used with our second, third and fourth grade students to teach them about coding and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) concepts through hands-on interaction and play. We are very fortunate to have a foundation in our community dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in education.
