5th grade students had the opportunity to attend the Environmental Fair at the Lyon County Fairgrounds. Students participated in numerous sessions pertaining to recycling, glaciers, soil, wetlands, drones, trees, stream tables, the zoo-mobile, contained fires, prairies, energy, and many more. We had a wonderful day and enjoyed the hands-on learning opportunities.
Our homecoming football game and dance are fast approaching this Friday! The football game starts at 7pm at Mattke field, SMSU and there is a tailgating meal before the game. Here's the information about the dance - we hope to see you there!
Students in 8th grade social studies have applying their map skills and physical geography vocabulary to create their own fictious land mass. It's been fun to see their knowledge and creativity come together to produce high quality work!

Thank you to the SMSU Boys Basketball team for coming and spending the day at Southview during the students phy-Ed time. They all had a blast.
MATEC dress-up days for HOCO week!
Sally Reynolds, Director of Career and College Success with Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) visited with MPS Leadership today. The reason for the visit was for MDE to get to meet our team; listen to our concerns and ideas; experience the great work we are doing for our students and strengthen the relationship between the school community and MDE.
