☀️Stephanie McClain, a Soil Health Specialist for Minnesota with the Natural Resource Conservation Service, taught the students more about soil – the texture, make up, what happens to it when it rains☔, and more! Students 👨🏽‍👩🏻‍👧🏾‍👦🏻 interacted with different types of soil and watched a rainfall 🌧️ simulator demonstrate what happens to the soil (with and without coverage) when it rains.

Summer school students hosted Sam Jens, Lyon County 4H, and some GERMS (fake ones 😊) this week! Students learned about how quickly germs spread, how animals are quarantined when they are ill, how germs spread, and a whole lot more!

🌞Summer school students in grades 1-4 visited Olson Organic Farm in Cottonwood. 👨🏽‍🌾🚜When they arrived, a fawn greeted them in the front lawn! 🦌Students then went about learning how their farm operates, farm machinery, and more! Students loved sharing their experience on the farm! 🐖🐔🐄
