The Lyon County Sheriff's Office is rolling out a new emergency notification system, RAVE Alert and Smart 911 . This system will be used for weather alerts along with other emergency notifications that need to be sent out, such as winter parking, water main breaks, or shelter in places. These notifications can be sent through multiple different avenues: phone call, text message, or email.

The are a few different options to sign-up. You can scan the QR code on the photo, the one with the t-rex, go to the website, https://www.smart911.com/smart911/ref/reg.action?pa=lyonmnus, or you can text LYON to 226787.
At the log-in page, you will be able to add your phone, email, and address into the website for your profile. Your address will be used for when we need to notify you based on narrow location instead of all of Lyon County.

Today is National Interpreter Appreciation Day and Marshall Public Schools has 5 outstanding staff that assist with a large population of our schools! These 5 Parent Student Connectors help many members of our community feel seen and understood within our system. They help families with navigating the language barriers and cultural differences.

*Help maintain a safe, secure environment by monitoring facilities such as boilers and freezers, responding to concerns, and supporting operations as needed.
*4-6 hours each weekend (Saturdays and Sundays).
*Special Boilers license required.

Pay is $19.61-$22.10 per hour.

There are openings in the Special Education department that are rare to open up. DCD (Developmental Cognitive Disabilities) Teacher develops, plans, and implements Individualized Education Program (IEP) plans and instructional strategies for students with significant cognitive disabilities. This position focuses on fostering academic, functional, social, and life skills to support students' independence and success in school and community settings.

The ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, active environment is a must. Candidates should possess the ability to work as a team in making student-centered decisions.  The candidate should also have strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required and ability to obtain proper MN Teacher licensure from MN Department of Education are required.

Marshall HS ACTS (Against Alcohol, Chemical, Tobacco, and Substance) group participated in a “Ghost Out” last Friday to raise awareness about the dangers of drunk driving. Every 45 minutes, chimes rang throughout the school, and a student was given a white shirt to wear—each one representing a life lost to a drunk driving crash. As the day went on, more students in white shirts filled the halls, creating a powerful visual reminder of how frequently these tragedies occur and how many lives are impacted in just one day. Don’t let your story—or someone else’s—end too soon.

The Park Side Library would like to give a big THANK YOU to the Pride in the Tiger Foundation for our new browsing bins. These bins allow our students to find books more easily. Thank you for supporting our library and our students.
