Mrs. Dulas’ technology class are learning about Ozobots. Ozobots are little robots that can be programmed using color codes creating sequences of commands for the robot for a fun and interactive way for kids to learn coding. They can also be used for digital coding to create more complex programs by dragging and dropping blocks in the Blockly interface on their devices. Kids are having so much fun with them!

In February, Living on Your Own class headed to the parking lot to check out the anatomy of a car. Students scouted out the location of the air filter, where to add washer fluid and how to check the oil. They also did the penny test to check the tread on the tires!

Officer Willson from the Marshall Police Department visited Mr. Schmitt’s 8th Grade Guided Learning classroom last week. He talked with the students about appropriate use of social media, new driver responsibilities, how to interact with police, and other topics important to making a safe and healthy transition from adolescence to being a young adult. These topics will be important as these students will be high school students who spend more and more time outside of the home while they are with friends, driving, or starting a job in the next few years. Marshall Middle School is using opportunities like this to help these students understand how to engage positively with the community and make good choices as they leave our school and head into the rest of their lives.

We are hiring! Are you a good fit? Please apply at https://www.applitrack.com/marshallpublicschool/onlineapp/default.aspx?Category=Certified+Support.
