Summer school students were back for more “fun in the kitchen” for another science experiment with Sam Jens, with Lyon County 4-H! Students worked to change a liquid into solid! Students dissolved detergent into warm water, mixed in glue, and went to work forming a sphere! In the end, they had their very own bouncy ball! Students enjoyed interacting with the materials and were amazed at what they created!

Students in summer school are having FUN IN THE KITCHEN! Ms. Stiles, MS FACS teacher, helped students make fruit salsa with cinnamon and sugar chips! Before starting, students used proper handwashing techniques to ensure they were ready to go! After students were taught how to properly use a butter knife, they had to dice strawberries, apples, raspberries, and bananas into bite sized pieces. Other students added butter to chips and sprinkled them with cinnamon and sugar. In the end, all students had the chance to try fruit salsa! It is something students can make at home as a refreshing, healthy snack!
